Flotation

The accurate definition explains how the floating properties of sludge in a liquid cause it to swim to the surface of the liquid. Whereupon there is a perfect separation of the sludge from the clear liquid.

The clarification procedure is based on inserting minute gas bubbles into the liquid. These attach themselves to the sludge particles in the fruit-wine and drive them up to the surface of the liquid. The sludge particles remain there and form themselves into a solid sludge cake. This sludgy cake mass can be continually skimmed off from the surface or you can drain off the clear liquid out through the residue drain at the bottom of the container.

Flotation clarification has for a long time been a customary process in sewage treatment. In recent years it has been increasingly applied in the clarification of fruit-wine. Today it is a well-proven method to enhance the quality of wine.

Kiesel Floatclear Gr. 2

Must clarification with flotation means you have:

  • less investment costs
  • less or no maintenance costs
  • a simple mechanism and therefore less susceptibility to failure
  • rapid fruit-wine processing
  • a very high degree of clarification
  • reduction of phenol
  • clarification of white, red and even heated grape fruit-wine under formation of a solid sludge mass

Variable applications

For small plants we constructed a flotation device with only one pump.

Kiesel Floatclear B55

    Advantages of the KIESEL Floatclear®
  • secure insertion of minute air bubbles, i.e. the perfect amount of clarification
  • a minimum amount of energy required
  • simply handling of the appliance
  • simple to operate: all the parts such as the switch cabinet and ball cocks, manometer are operated or observed from one side
  • accessoires: dosing pump, dosing tank with mixer un heating jacket, double filter, dull control measuring
  • good visibility of the quantity throughput
  • big contents of floating tank
  • aseptic manometer with pressure addapter (stainless steel)
  • easy to keep clean
  • full protection through the excess pressure safety valve
  • switch cabinet made of stainless steel for mustpumps and dosingpumps
  • under carriage made of stainless steel with stainless steel trolley wheels
  • excellent consultation available for you from trained sales personnel

KIESEL Double-gap-tubing-filter

The KIESEL Double-gap-tubing-filter is particularly developed to separate solids from liquid media.

The KIESEL Double-gap-tubing-filter consists of 2 gap-tubing-filter-insets and 4 disk valve which continuous working by the change from the gap-tubing-filter. 2 additional disk valve are attached at the remainder outlet.

A manometer shows the pressure in the used gap-tubing-filter.

The more the pressure increases the more surface of the gap-tubing-filter is humid.

The solids are removed by the rubber lip which is fastened at the gap-tubing-filter-inset by take out from the pipe.

   Avantages
  • continuous working
  • simple operation
  • quickly cleaning
  • fastest switch between the filters
  • remainder outlet
  • in different sizes available
  • gap-tubing-filter-insets (50 % more filter surface than with perforated plates)
  • favorable alternative to the more expensive rotating brush filter
  • with chassis
  • completly in stainless steal
  • filter sizes from 20 µm up to 2 mm
