KIESEL Double tube exchangers

The essential component of the KIESEL double tube exchangers are the novel corrugated tubes. The twisting causes there to be turbulent currents of the product flow and of the energy carrier. Whereupon far greater K-values are achieved than with smooth banks of tubes. These values rate 50% higher than those achieved using traditional double tube exchangers with smooth inside and smooth outside tubes. Owing to the turbulence created in the corrugated tubes you can manage with less exchanger surface. The twisting form of the tube that propels the product facilitates an evenly warmed (or cooled) mash tract. There is not any collating device that can ruffle the product flow.

The KIESEL double tube exchangers even function with products containing foreign substances. They do not cause any blockages. Furthermore any kind of narrowing the tube that propels the product will not hamper the product flow.


    Field of application

  • to heat up mash to a 28°C fermentation starting off temperature.
  • to heat up mash to a temperature of 65°C.
  • to heat up mash to 85°C through heat recovery, i.e., a rapid heating up process. It can also recool the hot mash and prewarm the cold mash.
  • to cool mash or grape must to 15°C.

Capacity with heat recovery: hourly performances of approx. 2,000 to 50,000 ltr./h

Energy carrier: hot water, low pressure steam, high pressure steam, cold water, cold brine.

KIESEL Multi tube exchanger

The KIESEL multi tube exchanger consists of an energy-carrier-corrugated-tube in that are integrated several primary-medium-corrugated-tubes. The quantity of the primary-medium-corrugated-tubes dependent on the size from the energie-carrier-corrugated-tube. An ideal application for the KIESEL multi tube exchanger is heating and refrigerate from fluids with foreign substance inclusion.

The KIESEL plate heat exchanger consists of one floor panel with inlet and outlet for medium and energy-carrier, one closed floor panel and several waved, thin-walled metalplates.

KIESEL Heat exchanger plates

The KIESEL heat exchanger plates are made for tank sizes of between approx. 500 to 100.000 litres content. The material is exclusively stainless steel 316 L (1.4404) welded together with a laser process. This material is brought on the outer surface RA < 0,6 mµ with a galvanised mirror polishing. Whereupon it is easy to clean. Even tartar residue can be easily removed with mechanical cleaning.

The built-in heat exchanger plates give ideal heat transfer. They are greatly superior to the double shell tanks since they transfer of coolness directly into the liquid and not into the atmosphere. Heat exchanger plates can be installed through the manholes of all the usual wine tanks on the market. Fitting them in later is very easy.

The compulsory supply of the coolant guarantees the effectiveness of this concept. The concistency is ensured with a hydraulic pressure test of more than 10 bar. It is impossible for the coolant ever to get into the wine.

Control

Each tank is individually controlled. The control indicates the actual temperature for each tank. This is detected by a sensitiv stainless steel detector in each tank. The nominal temperature is individually set for each tank. The LED is easy to read. Operating is easy. If the actual temperature is above the nominal temperature, then the magnet valve at the entrance to the heat exchanger plates will open. As soon as the nominal temperature has been reached, the magnet valve closes. No additional energy will be required.

The difference temperature which leads to the re-opening of the magnet valve is also set at the control. The control is fitted into closed switch boxes, each can be supplied with 5, 10, 15 etc. control units.

  • It is possible to mount them in standing, lying, cubic and trunk tanks.
  • They are absolutely safety owing to the 316 L (1.4404) material used and because of the hydraulic pressure test.
  • The outer surface is easy to clean because of the galvanised polishing.

KIESEL Fermentation temperature control

In recent years monitoring the fermentation temperature in wine cellarage has increased predominantly. Specific fruity taste of wines each exuding rich bouquets have been able to be produced by ensuring low temperature fermentation through careful monitoring. These wines have been sold exeptionally well.

The output temperature can be maintained and even lowered during the fermentation process by cooling. This produces a gradual fermentation. The fermenting temperature can be stopped precisely to the desired temperature. The refrigerators are designed for the respective application.
